Ashaway is also a world leader in the production of bulk, non-sterile and non-absorbable suture threads and custom braided products. Each year over 75 million yards of suture threads are produced in our Ashaway, Rhode Island facility.
The same stringent quality control system that is required by the United States Food and Drug Administration for suture thread production is used in all Ashaway production. Ashaway bulk, non-sterile suture thread production ranges from 25-micron nylon monofilament for delicate neurosurgery to siliconized, braided polyester for critical open heart surgery.
